face

A tribal fusion hipscarf with a face on it. On the bum side that is. Why?

Feathery

This whole thing annoys me, but why lingerie bra straps, why can't they be replaced and covered?

Belly Dance?

Must be, because it has a tassle on it. These things must have been bought, 'upcycled' and listed as belly dance. But why?
Oh, I have clearly been living in the hicks and have never seen anything creative.

Olive?

Must be an unfortunate picture, but it looks like the model got an olive in her navel:

Still Not Sold?

I posted this one maybe more than a year ago and it has been floating around on the internet for even longer. It still hasn't been sold. I wonder why. It's only $35.00 US, so who dares to buy this thing! I challenge my readers!

Seriously? Why?

Not even remotely belly dance, and it looks like cigarettes and cigars are on that string. The scary thing? It's sold!

Braids and Stuff I like

Some of these hair pieces are advertised in the title as 'belly dance', probably to get more visitors, but I do like their products, Puppycatmeow on Etsy. Some really cool stuff on there I am tempted to buy but afraid it will be too hard to match my hair colour.

Again?!

More 'vintage':

Surprice!

It's my birthday today and I like to give you all a present, my latest creation:

Of course this thing is not real, so don't worry (although I sometimes create costumes that make me cringe lateron) I had so much fun creating this, it was a request from someone on http://www.bellydanceforums.net/

Busted! Not vintage

Remember my post from 1/13/12 called 'Tag'? Well this is from the same seller but presented as vintage this time, but it is the same price tag!

Vintage?

Another so called vintage thing. That thin strap is a beaded strand waiting to break

Vintage?

Being sold as vintage AND tagged belly dance costume and tribal

Beautiful Costume

Sadly, I decided to remove this post as this costume got too many bad comments from readers. It was a truely beautiful costume so I don't understand what the negativity was about.

Opinions?

The harem pants got to be replaced by a skirt

There is definitely a lot of work in the decoration

But the head dress is questionable

Tag

The tag is still on the bra, the seller slapped some stuff on it (at least covered the bra straps) and what is up with that wonky crotch ornament?

Fluffy

The feathers would never stay in place. I am curious what a belt would look like, but the seller has none.

Why?

This is just horrible, advertising these things as belly dance costume, and why the cage?

One of My Own Creations...

This was one of my first creations, the third attempt at a belly dance costume... What happened was that I wanted to create a 60's Egyptian belly dance costume that I had seen in some of the pictures my grandparents took in Egypt. So I bought this horrific tulle, but it was stiff! Halfway through making this I realized it was too hideous to finish:

The black dress and scarf isn't part of it, that was needed for coverage haha

Undies Showing

I am breaking my own biggest rule: not posting costumes that are not up for sale. But I just want to educate beginner belly dancers. Never wear a hipscarf and no skirt and please don't show your undies. This dancer is famous for her crazy skimpy outfits and she always seems to get away with it with no complaints. But just because someone famous does this, doesn't mean all dancers do this!

Feathery Mistake

I so want roadkill on my bum, I am going to purchase this thing (don't worry I wouldn't)

Bra

Old bra straps still there, check, weird underwire decoration, check, ugly chains, check, ugly coins, check!

Why?

"This simple dance bra is perfect for a relaxed environment like a Hafla, class seting, or even a renn faire!"

Uh, no. Plus this bra was also modeled on a sweaty person, there was a sweat stain on the bra in that picture. Yuk
